How to Use the SVG Maker

  1. Upload your photo. Drop it in or click to browse. This is the image that'll be traced into vector shapes.
  2. Pick a mode. Color keeps all the original colors — great for multi-layer cuts or stickers. Black & White reduces it to two tones. Silhouette fills everything dark — ideal for vinyl and simple decals.
  3. Tune the settings. Detail controls how much of the image gets picked up. Smoothness rounds out jagged edges. Min Area removes tiny fragments and noise.
  4. Stroke Outline and Transparent BG are optional extras. Stroke adds a thin black border around shapes, which helps cutting machines track edges cleanly. Transparent BG removes the background so you don't get a big white square behind your design.
  5. Click Trace to SVG. The tool works through it step by step — watch the progress bar. Complex photos take a little longer, so sit tight.
  6. Compare the result. Use the Original, SVG, and Split views to see how the trace turned out against your original photo.
  7. Download or copy. Save the SVG file, or hit Copy SVG Code to paste it straight into Cricut Design Space or another editor.
